AI Settings

Open Settings -> Behaviour to choose the model and edit the instructions that run before every chat turn.

Model

Choose GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4 Mini, GPT-5 Mini, or enter a custom OpenAI model ID available to the configured API key. New agents default to GPT-5.4 Mini.

Changing the model can affect answer quality, latency, and cost. Test the same set of questions before and after a change.

System prompt

Use the system prompt for stable behaviour: the agent’s role, tone, boundaries, and what to do when the sources do not contain an answer. Keep business facts and policies in the knowledge base so they can be reviewed and updated in one place.

A useful prompt is short and testable. For example:

You are the customer support assistant for Example Co. Answer clearly and briefly from the available sources. If the sources do not support an answer, say what is missing and offer the published contact route. Do not guess order, account, or customer-specific information.

Do not put secrets or personal data in the prompt. Website content, files, and visitor messages are untrusted input; they must not be allowed to redefine the agent’s role or override platform safeguards.

Suggested questions

Add up to four starter questions. Choose questions a first-time visitor is genuinely likely to ask, and test that each one has a good source-backed answer. The widget may show a smaller subset depending on the layout.
